Iowa DC Norm Parker has been away from the team with an undisclosed health issue for a few weeks. Turns out he wasn't sick. He had his right foot amputated due to diabetic-related complications.

Parker still intends to coach this season.

Best of luck to Coach Parker at Iowa.
We all should cherish our good health.

I am heading with wife and some other area MSU alums, over to Houston this weekend for the Coogs hosting MSU.
Mississippi State has had a winning record this late in a season just once in the millennium (2007 Liberty Bowl year)
State's currently 3-2 on the campaign

Also, pertaining to the Aria ad at the bottom of the page ...
It's an MGM property and they sent us a brochure, with a coupon for 3 free nights
We are headed there Nov. 11-ish to make sure the sportsbook is up to snuff.
(Wondering ... will the Braves have won the World Series by then?)

Blitz....you get three nights at Aria.....I get three nights at Main Street Station, or the Orleans. I'm doing something wrong :)

Mrs. & I are making our first visit of the season to ND Stadium this Saturday. Would much prefer being on the sofa....but at least I'll be able to yell insults at Wanny....

I wanna go eventually to see the home of Touchdown Jesus.
My Chicago-based brother's been and said it's cool campus experience.

And look, you know Vegas is Vegas.
Just get there, and it sort of takes care of itself after that.
    I love the city.

Yeah, Jimmy Rollins' season has been pretty much ruined by leg muscle injuries (calf, then quad). The only thing that's going to help those heal is 2-3 months of rest.

My daughter's best friend in high school is a U. of Michigan senior. My daughter will be visiting her this weekend, and they have tickets for Michigan-Michigan State. She has never seen a live football game of any kind. Never went to a Lexington High game and attends BU, where there is no football.
Pretty good way to break into the sport, I'd say.

Layman, Blitz gets those invites because he's a degenerate gambler. (He knows I'm kidding ... sort of).

Meanwhile, I'm getting ads for Wrangler, American Express and Ford Fusion. Means I'm a middle-class square, I guess.

Steak, I'm probably more middle-class / middle aged square, than I care to admit. I just bemoan the fact that the only attention I get is from Boyd Gaming, instead of MGM-Mirage......which I understand is directly related to my middle class square gaming budget.

    Hey, I OWN a Ford Fusion!! :)

The Facebook posts today have been very entertaining, I'll say that. There's a lot of trash-talking going on. Quite amusing.

And hate doesn't even begin to describe it. K-State would LOVE to send Nebraska to the Big 10 with a big ol' loss to remember us by. In fact, my dad, who isn't even a K-State grad, every time he sees someone with a Nebraska logo on their car, starts yelling about traitorous red scum. :D

I'm beginning to think Big XII membership is an automatic points deduction in any "best defense" argument.

Sounds like K-State might have to starting opening it up some.

Taylor Martinez breaks off an 80-yard run on the third play of the second half for his third rushing touchdown. 24-3 Nebraska. Husker radio guys have him at more than 200 yards rushing.
