Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer layoffs

    9 layoffs today, none in newsroom. Don't know if more are forthcoming. Probably result of recent buyout offers, though not totally sure of that. Just speculation.

    If I were the newsroom, I'd be a little concerned. They weren't exactly kind with Brett Friedlander ...

    The total is 21, including their business editor who took a voluntary buyout. No mention of anyone else specifically.
