I believe Greg Landry was the starting QB when I saw the Chicago Blitz play the Birmingham Stallions (QB'd by Cliff Stoudt) during the USFL's short-lived heyday.

Maybe I should have used the blue font.

I think one can argue that Favre was a product of his coach...

When he had a great coach (Holmgren) he was great...

When he had bad coaches (Rhodes, Sherman) he was slightly better than average....

With a good up-and-comer coach (McCarthy) he was great again...

If Favre was as great as they say, he would have been a better player from 1999-2005.

please. we can link great qb's to their coaches all day. how absurd will all this get?

if i recall, starr was crap before lombardi. so?

this notion that favre utterly fell apart without holmgren is false. was either as successful without the other? no -- not exactly a new flash.

it's like arguing unitas didn't do crap without ewbank.

Montana didn't fall apart without Walsh... Just saying... :)

Obviously, Favre didn't fall apart without Holmgren, but he was not the same player under Sherman as he was under Holmgren...
