I actually think the Packers are in an OK situation here.

Even the biggest Packers fanboi has to be getting sick of Favre's shit by now. HE retired. The Packers didn't run him out of the room. He was one of the five best QBs on the planet last year. Even with Aaron Rodgers running out of time to audition, does anyone really think, all things being equal, the Packers prefer him under center over Favre?

But now the Packers are pretty close to bulletproof if they want to tell Favre to fuck off. Favre quite clearly bluffed, and was either too stubborn or too stupid to back off when the Packers called it. So the Packers went on with life without him. And that's too much to handle now for Favre, whose good ol' boy rep is down the crapper. He's no longer the guy who was merely conflicted abotu whether or not to play. He's an attention whore...an A-Rod with gray hair, a southern accent and a fondness for Percocet.

Atlanta's too close to home. It has to be a combination of a high level of suck, long distance from home and a shitty town to boot.

I guess Buffalo would work too.

my two cents: favre plays for THE PACKERS in '08 or for NO ONE.

packers can't trade him 'cause of cap ramifications and -- more importantly -- who in the hell is gonna trade at least a no. 1 pick for a qb who has only a year or so left? release him? yeah, right. thanks for comin', brett, we love ya, but we're fully commited to this aaron rodgers fella. and our loyal fans in green bay just want you to be happy.

    yeah, right.
