Really, no one mentions the A-Team

 

Any show that tells a story in its opening, like the aforementioned Beverly Hillbillies and Odd Couple, is a winner. This one also qualifies:

David Banner is believed to be dead. And he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

Hell, by that notion, the Patty Duke Show also wins - "but they're cousins....identical cousins all the way!"

To me, it's Cheers, then everyone else.

 

When the cloud clears and the chorus sings and you see the simple words "The Simpsons" then watch hard for all the jokes that interchange weekly it's perfect.
Most openings are just meaningless, look at the House opening that has NEVER changed even though the people have.
The Simpsons is perfect.

 

Off the top of my head - and not to repeat anything else mentioned - in this age of DVRs and the ability to fast forward, I still watch/listen to True Blood's opening.

Also, The Simpsons openings are worth watching, especially when they get very clever (like the evolution one, where Mo actually devolves).

The show that I watch and NEVER fast forward through the opening theme is "West Wing". Awesome, awesome music.

 

Each episode is like a 60-minute movie

 

the first season of F-Troop, with the silly battle scenes with the indians, was cool
