Favorite Shakespeare play and passage

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Chi City 81, Oct 5, 2007.

  1. While I'm sure this was meant as a joke, my wife and I were discussing this the other day. I love what they did with that because they made Shakespeare cool for an entire generation who saw his work as boring and dead.
My favorite is Hamlet with A Midsummer Night's Dream as my choice of the comedies.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is absolutely brilliant.

There was a pretty good modern remake of Hamlet, with Ethan Hawke showing a little bit of range.

  3. Tom Stoppard is absolutely brilliant.
I like the Branagh Hamlet, but mainly for Derek Jacobi and Julie (sigh) Christie as the incestuous bedlings.
