I believe Frank Costanza called it "The Airing of the Grievances."

    Outstanding delivery by Jerry Stiller.

Festivus includes both the airing of grievances and feats of strength.

Haha, very good Jesus and Buck.

I think the scene with Kramer talking about fighting with the guy on the bus may be my favorite scene ever. That kills me every time.

What do you mean you've faked?
    I've faked.
    Why?
I was tired, I wanted to go to bed.

I'll leave the exact wordings on these things to Buck.

'Let me tell you something, funny boy... You know that little stamp? The one that says New York Public Library? Well, that may not mean anything to you, but that means a lot to me. One whole helluva lot. Sure, go ahead, laugh if you want to. I've seen your type before -- flashy, making the scene, flaunting convention. Yeah, I know what you're thinking... Why's this guy making such a big stink about old library books? Let me give you a hint, junior. Maybe we can live without libraries, people like you and me.... Maybe. Sure, we're too old to change the world. What about that kid, sitting down, opening a book right now in a branch of the local library and finding pictures of pee-pees and wee-wees in The Cat in the Hat and The Five Chinese Brothers. Doesn't he deserve better? Look, if you think this is about overdue fines and missing books, you'd better think again. This is about that kid's right to read a book without getting his mind warped. Or maybe that turns you on, Seinfeld... Maybe that's how you get your kicks... You and your goodtime buddies... I've got a flash for you, joy boy. Partytime is over.'

I've seen them so many times over the years that I'm not sure I have a favorite episode anymore. The bits and pieces from episodes stand out more than anything else -- like the Merv Griffin set scenes, Jerry's Kramer impression in the Roasters episode, SERENITY NOW!!!, Bookman's rants.

I wish they would put the show on a three- or four-year moratorium so that the episodes could feel somewhat new again.

    And Boobie:

When it's enough already and you just want to get some sleep.

I can't remember exactly how it goes, but the scene in the Chinese restaurant where George asks the guy (who does a brilliant job) why their table hasn't been called yet, and the guy tells him he called "Cartwright" and no one answered kills me. And then George goes back and tells it to Jerry, and Jerry asks the obvious question "Who's Cartwright?" and in vintage Costanza-mode George says "Me." It's something like that, but however it's done is perfect.

Bookman might be my favorite character ever.

And thanks John, I couldn't remember exactly how it went.

It's the final scene of the episode before the monologue.

    (George goes over to Bruce)

GEORGE: Excuse me, I'm expecting a call. Costanza?

BRUCE: Yeah, I just got a call. I yell 'Cartwright! Cartwright!', just like that. Nobody came up, I hang up.

GEORGE: Well, was it for Costanza or...

BRUCE: Yes, yes, that's it. Nobody answered.

GEORGE: Well was it a woman?

BRUCE: Yeah, yeah. I tell her you not here, she said curse word, I hang up.

(George comes over to Jerry and Elaine, stunned)

GEORGE: She called. He yelled Cartwright. I missed her.

    JERRY: Who's Cartwright?

    GEORGE: I'm Cartwright.

    JERRY: You're not Cartwri-

GEORGE: Of course I'm not Cartwright! Look, why don't you two just go to the movies all by yourselves, I'm not in the mood.

ELAINE: Well me neither, I'm goin' to Skyburger.

    JERRY: So You're not going?

    ELAINE: You don't need us.

JERRY: Well I can't go to a bad movie by myself. Who am I gonna make sarcastic remarks to, strangers? Eh, I guess I'll just go to my uncle's.

GEORGE: Should we tell him we're leaving?

ELAINE: What for? Let's just get out of here.

    (they all leave)

    BRUCE: Seinfeld, 4?

"You know, we're living in a SOCIETY!"

    My favorites:
    1 -- "The Jimmy"
    "George likes spicy chicken.
    "What did you say?"
"I said I like spicy chicken."
"No ... You said GEORGE likes spicy chicken. You're turning into Jimmy!"
    "GEORGE IS GETTING UPSET!"

Elaine: "Kramer, he thinks you're mentally challenged."
    Jerry: "Well ... "
Elaine: "What's going to happen at the dinner? He's going to see you're not!"
    Jerry: "Well ... "

2 -- The episode where Jerry goes to heckle the lady at work.
    3-- The Marine Biologist
    4 -- The Comeback.
"George, the ocean called. It's running out of shrimp."
"That's funny. Because the JERK STORE called, and they're running out of YOU!"
    "What's the difference? You're they're all-time best seller!"'

5 -- The Van Buren Boys, where Kramer sells all of his stories to Mr. Peterman.
