I can't believe you beat me to this. A friend, and sometimes reader of this board, loves that song. Nothing funnier than him drunk, in front of a bar full of people singing it -- something I have seen and which you probably something you kind have have to see to understand.

    T. Rex might have had only one big hit in the U.S., but it shouldn't be dismissed as a one-hit wonder band. "Jeepster," "Cosmic Dancer," "20th Century Boy," "Children of the Revolution" -- a LOT of great stuff. And I can understand why a band calling itself the John Wilkes Booze recorded a song called "Marc Bolan Makes Me Want to Fuck," because T. Rex is extremely sexual music, even if Bolan isn't always explicitly singing about sex. The groove is that good.

    20th Century Boy:

    Children of the Revolution:

That said, I'll reserve my favorite one-hit wonders for true novelties:

Jump 'N the Saddle Band -- Curly Shuffle

Joe Dolce -- Shaddap You Face

    Nervous Norvus -- Transfusion

Come to think of it, Nervous Norvus had "Ape Call," too, so maybe he's disqualified

And the king of the novelty one-hit wonders, Allan Sherman -- Hello Muddah Hello Faddah

I am so very hurt that you don't know that both Ratt and Skid Row had multiple top 40 hits.

All the cursing over salary caps combined didn't hurt as much as this. :D :D :D

I like these two songs by The Church, but not sure which of the two was more popular on the charts:

Under the Milky Way or Metropolis
