Casablanca. Some Like it Hot. Gone With the Wind. Dr. Strangelove. Sunset Boulevard. To Kill a Mockingbird. Breakfast at Tiffany's. A Clockwork Orange. Singin in the Rain. 2001. The Apartment. The Sting. It Happened One Night. Ben Hur.

I gave up on modern movies a long time ago and started watching actual cinema. There's some good stuff that was made before CGI and color.

The Sting was post-1970 but it's still greatness.

    3 absolute classics......

Anatomy of a Murder: Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick
Double Indemnity: Barbara Stanwyck, Fred McMurray, Edward G. Robinson
The Train: Burt Lancaster, Paul Scofield

....outstanding acting and directing and all were Oscar nominated/winners.

No Way to Treat a Lady: Rod Steiger George Segal......dull for a scene or two but still very good.
Day of the Jackal: post 1970 movie that feels like the 60's, and a great story.

One reason you may not appreciate those movies very much is because you can't put into perspective the ways that each movie was a ground-breaker.

Somebody said on here a couple of weeks ago that Animal House (I think) wasn't that funny. Well, by today's standards that may be true, but back when it came out it set the standard for comedies. The same is true for Bogart and Citizen Kane.

You journalism jocks MUST see Cagney in Picture Snatcher.

Sterling Holloway as a naive college student is classic.
