    Solo: Slash in "November Rain" or Eddie VH in "Hot for Teacher"

    If we're just going with "guitarist" and not pairing him/her up with a solo:

    Lindsey Buckingham, both with and without Fleetwood Mac.

    His finger-picking style is unique -- and awesome.

    Can't pick a guitarist offhand, but solo-wise, i always get fired up by Vernon Reid's solos in Cult of Personality.

    Favorite guitarist: Billy Joe Walker Jr. I have all seven of his cds, mostly instrumental, mostly accoustic.

    Favorite solo: Probably the one in Don't Fear the Reaper. Guy in a band I used to be in could really shred that solo.
