    I am not a fan of the appeal to authority argument used so often on this board, but I will unquestionably accept the insight of a PhD in biblical studies.

    I didn't mean you were wrong that someone believed it, that's why I asked who? I meant that is wrong. Who said it? There's also a difference between super-human and semi-divine. And yes, I'm secure enough to take on a PHD.

    I hear it, but the simplest understanding (and IMO the correct one) is that it was the exposure to the Divine that made his face shine.

    I think we can agree he was no ordinary mortal.

    Well, not really. I think he was a regular person who through his own self discipline and circumstance managed to develop a closer relationship with God than anyone in history. But make no mistake, he was born from a mother and father; he died and remained dead.
