    What's your favorite gift you got this year? For me, obviously my healthy, beautiful daughter.

    But otherwise, it's two books: "The Best American Sports Writing of the Century" and David Foster Wallace's "Consider the Lobster." I can't wait to dive into both.

    Best: The trip to NYC the Mrs. and I have been saving for.

    Worst: $50 gift certificate to Olive Garden from my brother, of all people.

    Knowing that I'm still alive and I have great family and wonderful friends.

    Plus, the memories of good times this year help mitigate the difficult times so many of us are living in.

    Man, ducky, that SS must be a peach. :D


    Mine is either the scent sampler from Sephora (10 perfume samples, 1 ounce each, and a certificate for a free full-sized one) or the great tourmaline hair straightener my dad got me. Well, he kind of got it for me.

    Since I bought an iPhone for myself last week, I'll go with the "Yard of Beef."

    It's, um, a girthy hunk of summer sausage that's something like 5,500 calories if I ate the thing in one sitting.

    No lie. Then again, I suppose you can't go wrong with any food product that doubles as a gag holiday gift/lethal weapon.
