"Father of Night" is a beautiful piece and, obviously, foreshadowed a lot of his 70s work, from the spiritual content to the Gospel-style backup singers.

Now THAT'S the kind of list I was fishing for.
I would note that, so far, "Like A Rolling Stone" has appeared on exactly one list.
Nice body of work, I'm thinking.

I say this as someone who has only dabbled with listening to him, but I saw him in concert in October and came away entirely unimpressed. He sang what sounded like bluegrass, but all of the songs sounded the same and his voice was garbled (and it wasn't the acoustics).

Did I just catch him at a bad time.....?

Album-wise I'd put Blood on the Tracks and possibly Oh Mercy ahead of Blonde.

Smart-ass buddy of mine played this over and over as we watched the O.J.-in-the-white-Bronco "chase."

That's great. I think that was the first Dylan song I heard -- at least the first time I knew it was a Dylan song. We were watching a clip about Rubin Carter in American History class, and my teacher -- one of my all-time favorites -- printed out the lyrics and played "Hurricane" for the class. It was pretty cool.

The thing I love about that song is that you can close your eyes and see everything happen so vividly.
