Hm, it should be more like, your FIFTY favourite Dylan songs, but here's today's list off the top of my head. Tomorrow could be different.

    1) Like a Rolling Stone (yeah, I know, but still one of the greatest songs in rock history)
    2) Maggie's Farm
    3) I shall be Released
    4) Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll
    5) Hurricane

Blowin' in the Wind, Subterreanean Homesick Blues, Masters of War. John Wesley Harding also up there

I must say Don't Think Twice, It's All Right. I just heard it for the first time a couple of months ago while watching the finale to Mad Men.

No. 2 on my list might be Masters of War even though I like Eddie Vedder's cover better. *ducking*

  5. Don't.
    It is better.
Just as Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower" is.
On the latter, Bob said so himself.

Maybe the oldsters (and the old at heart) could make the next Dylan concert an official SportsJournalists.com outing.

Peace, love and tie dye, baby.

"Positively 4th Street", one of the nastiest songs ever written. Second would be "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again".

Oh yeah, and Jimi's version of "All Along The Watchtower".

  9. Without looking at anyone else's:

    1. Visions of Johanna
    2. It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)
    3. When I Paint My Masterpiece
    4. Changing of the Guard
    5. Desolation Row

These are always subject to change at any moment.

  10. Did you mistakenly think this was a Phish thread?

  11. "Changing Of The Guard" is a great pull, from the unjustly maligned "Street Legal."
May I also cite the tremendous, and criminally overlooked, Dylan B-side, "The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar."

  12. Thanks. It then goes right into, I believe, "New Pony." Just a great set.
