I mostly like the traditional takes on traditional songs -- The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, anyone with a good, deep voice doing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Sinatra doing anything. And, naturally, the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.

Modern takes? Try this version of What Child is This by Vanessa Williams -- http://popup.lala.com/popup/432627107983470387

Agreed. In fact, I prefer a classical singer (you know, like me). :D

Probably Sleigh Ride, though this will be a long list. I kind of dig holiday music.
Carolina Christmas by the Squirrel Nut Zippers is pretty good.

Is that a real song, or do you just not care for Rudolph? :D

Difficult to do this thread without getting Darlene Love out of the way. I have always loved David Bowie doing a duet of Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby on one of Crosby's Christmas specials in the 70s. It's incongruous and really good at the same time.

    Edit: Here is a link.

I'm so addicted to Otis Reddings' voice, which I think is probably my favorite in the the history of music, and his version of White Christmas just slays me every time.

Holy krap that song is hilarious!

    "What about animial rights, Dave?"

"Put a sock in it Melvin! You know, for years people said you overrated hamsters were my meal ticket. Now I guess you could just say, 'You're my meal!'"

"Hahaha! That's a good one Dave! Always knew you were the funny one in the group!"

    "Damn straight!"

The guy who did that song - Bob Rivers - does a lot of good Christmas parodies, like "Police Stopped My Car" and "The 12 Pains of Christmas".

And I've become a big fan of that "It's Called Christmas with a Capital 'C'". I think it's by Go Fish, or something like that.
