Pat Summerall. Yeah his last years he didn't have it, but to me back in the 70s and 80s to hear his voice you knew it was time for football.

Kinda the same way I feel about Cliff Drysdale and Bud Collins with tennis. Though I've never found a true tennis announcer I really love.

In truth, for most sporting events I can't stand the announcers. I try to give them a chance, but I always get annoyed. By the end of the Texans-Chiefs game last week I had the TV on mute bcause I couldn't take it anymore.

Is it just me or does Ron Darling sound like James Woods from Family Guy?

    Ron Darling.

I thought Shulman was a lot better two years ago. Since last year, he's using much more of a roaring style during key plays, which is unbecoming. Great voice for 95% of the game, though.

LOVED Gorman in his Big Monday days. I so miss him on those games.
Don't really get to hear him any more.
I can still hear him say, "Mu-TUM-bo!!!!"
Big Monday hasn't been the same since they broke up him and Raf.

Michaels and Collinsworth are the best among the NFL TV guys. Len and Bob on Cubs games are great.

Homerifically, I'm a big fan of Denny Mathews and Mitch Holthus, voice of the Royals and Chiefs, respectively.

Dick Enberg is my all-time, all-around, multi-sport favorite.

Plenty of others as well, including Dick Stockton, Brad Nessler, Jim Hughson, Mike Emerick, Pat Foley (Blackhawks), Dan Hicks (golf), Sam Rosen, Chris Cuthbert.

Studio host: the late Jim McKay, Ron MacLean.

Color guys: Don Drysdale, Joe Morgan, the late Merlin Olsen, John Madden, Joe Micheletti

(A lot of people will disagree, but.... Pierre McGuire).
