Favorite book as a child

    Haven't read the entire thread. But when I was a kid (7-12) The Hardy Boys series was my favorite. My parents saved them and we passed them down to Micro Jr. Many have the original color covers, one of from 1944 or something.

    Then Horacio Hornblower from 13-16.

    "A Separate Peace" was also great at 16 or so.

    "Harry and the Lady Next Door" was one of my favorites to read to Micro Jr., who also had many of the aforementioned books.

    I think it's certainly possible for a very smart, literate child to read adult books. But I think comprehension is a whole 'nother story.

    I read the bible, cover to cover, as an adult. Clearly, I didn't comprehend much. :D
