I would also like to give up some love for "Long Gone," an obscure baseball movie I must've watched 100 times as a young'n. I have never found anyone else who has seen it.

    Barsuk,

I was shocked to see someone else mention Long Gone. Well done.

It's a great minor league baseball movie that was not a theatre release (possibly HBO) with William Peterson (CSI), Virgina Madsen and Dermot Mulroney (not to mention, Teller of Penn & Teller fame).

I'll watch all the baseball flicks, but the ones at the top of the list are The Natural, Bull Durham, Long Gone, Field of Dreams, Eight Men Out and Soul of the Game, which I didn't see mentioned yet.

EDIT - 61* was fantastic, and should be on any list. And I am a Sox fan.

    Without a doubt, Major League.

  5. Field of Dreams in a landslide for me.

Major League, simply because the baseball being played actually looks like baseball. Sheen actually has a pitching motion.

And because of Bob Uecker. God, I wish Mr. Belvedere was back. The man has such great timing and delivery.

Have you ever heard his Hall of Fame induction speech? If not, find it and sit comfortably.
