Great call on American Pop, haven't seen that one in eons.

Toy Story and Shrek would be tops for me.

Roger Rabbit, especially now because it was done -- and pulled of brilliantly -- pre-computer animation.

    1. Toy Story (groundbreaking at so many levels; so exceptionally clever)
    2. Mulan (Perhaps a better one for fathers with daughters.... Disney criminally underrepresents this film at its properties)
    3. Lion King
    4. Shrek
    5. Prince of Egypt
    6. Bambi
    7. Snow White
    8. Cinderella
    9. Finding Nemo
    10. Toy Story 2

I used to love to watch "The Great Mouse Detective" with my older son, when he was little. Vincent Price as a rat!
    An underappreciated classic.

  5. Good pull on the South Park movie.

It has, imo, the funniest moment in movie history. I can still get a belly laugh from this scene and I must have seen it 100 times.

    My top picks:

    1. The Prince of Egypt, a film carried by the relationship between Moses and his Egyptian king brother.

    2. The Lion King, as someone else said, a movie that's classical in so many ways.

    3. Bambi, perhaps the classic of classics.

For anyone using this as a crib sheet for Anime entry, I'd add Grave of the Fireflies. Probably the most devastating film I've ever seen. Definitely the best anti-war movie. Just a crushing confessional. Seen it once 3 years ago and even now it makes me want to tear up.

Ninja Scroll also rocks your face. And I prefer Spirited Away from Miyazaki, but the man is better than Disney and Brad Bird combined and multiplied by a million.

Edit: Just saw "in no particular order" so you may well also prefer Spirited Away.

The Great Mouse Detective was the transition between Disney animation's dark days (Robin Hood, Black Cauldron anyone?) and the neoglory days that Little Mermaid kicked off. Had perhaps the first Disney strip tease scene. Oliver and Company was also decent from that era.

Have not seen Grave of the Fireflies, but meaning to. Don't watch much of anything these days really.
