How many other cities have two papers? And how many will likely see this fate in the future?

    Sad, sad day.

Holy Christ. My best to all those at the RMN.

This is a day we'd feared. Didn't think the RMN would be the first.

From the RMN Twitter feed, it appears they're getting 60 days.

And, now, Denver Post people have to buckle down and hope the paper doesn't try replacing them with the best - and cheapest - from the Rocky.

    Dreadful.

To MileHigh, and a RMN friend, The Lord, my fingers are tightly crossed for you.

Different cities, of course, but there's always talk about whether the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Star Tribune would both survive or maybe merge one day. Or both go out of business, I suppose.

From the live updating on the site, the 60 days is what's required under the WARN act. The execs said severance will also be paid.

The end will be here for the entire copycat industry when the paper in a one-paper city shuts down. That will truly mark the beginning of the end of days. I can think of some candidates.
