    Sandy Alomar played in the NL for about 15 seconds. He's going to get a managerial job this offseason.

    Part of that winning percentage is from managing god-awful Pirates teams from 1986-1989 and 1993-1996.

    I'm a Leyland I have to agree with Buck. On paper, he's won it all once and came close several times. He's a great interview. A great manager, one who always spoke his mind. I remember the days when Barry Bonds would pull his asshole schtick but Leyland wouldn't give a fuck and tell him so.
    He may come back but only if its a situation where he could win it all. I wish him the best.

    Very true.
    You also have to remember how awful the Tigers were just before he took over. He really helped turn them around.

    Two A.L. pennants. Lots of division titles and playoff appearances. I think he's really close, particularly if we truly believe the playoffs are close to a crapshoot. Or maybe we don't believe that.
