I figure he's earned his own thread apart from the Hot Stove.

Where does he fit in the hierarchy of all-time managers?

    And is he really done?

I can see him coming back in a McKeon-type situation, right?

Is he a Hall of Famer? I would think so.

I'm kind of sad I won't get to watch him manage any more. He reminds me of my dad. He looks like him, acts like him, and smokes like him.

I remember being in his office after a game where he ate two gigantic sandwiches and smoked four cigarettes before the session was done.

I had dinner with him once at spring training. Crazy guy.

I wonder if Bo Porter will get any suitors for any of the vacant positions. He didn't have a lot to work with in Houston, but handled himself better than a lot of first-year managers would have.

It would be an utter shocker. There was plenty of bad blood stemming from the Trammell firing.

Doubtful they would look at Gibson.
I'm hearing Leon Durham, the AAA hitting coach. However, take it with a grain of salt. I heard a year ago that Leyland would do one more year and Toledo AAA manager Phil Nevin would take over. Nevin is no longer with the organization, as he was fired at the end of August.

Brad Ausmus? Was runner up for the Boston gig either last year or the year before.

Are we naming 1990s National League catchers or potential Tigers managers?
