Our talented roster of journalists (including Ken Rosenthal, Seth Davis, and Stewart Mandel) and contributors collectively offer national and domestic coverage in over 28 markets.

    Position Overview
    We are hiring an Editor to support our national Fantasy Sports vertical. A qualified candidate will provide comprehensive editorial oversight to the team, be comfortable with using data analytics to understand journalistic performance and to drive strategic initiatives, in addition to managing the vertical in other recruiting/financial/business development efforts.

    This position reports directly to the Chief Content Officer.

    Responsibilities

    • Editorial oversight of our fantasy sports coverage, including management of dedicated full-time staff in multiple sports
    • Big-picture, conceptual vision for the vertical, including long-term direction; generating and planning story ideas; editorial platforms; expansion opportunities
    • Day-to-day management of the short-, mid-, and long-term edit calendar and assignments, including:
      • Editing, producing and publishing stories via WordPress
      • Promotion and curation of those stories
      • Collaboration with national staff and local city staff on story ideas
      • Provide feedback to reporters to help improve their work
      • Set goals for staff
      • Understanding SEO and best practices
      • Use real-time metrics to assess performance and adjust appropriately
    • Oversight and administration of the vertical’s social media accounts
    • Overseeing the vertical’s financial budget, including projecting month-to-month expenditures
    • Identifying and onboarding freelance writers, as needed
    • Identifying and developing additional opportunities around data, tools and partnerships
    • Collaboration with HQ on business/marketing initiatives
    • Must have previous professional experience in the fantasy sports industry, including a minimum of five years experience managing a staff
    • Must possess expert knowledge of the fantasy industry, including key trends around season-long, DFS and other games
    • Must show understanding of how recent changes around sports betting impact fantasy sports content and consumption
