For those of you who play fantasy football, what draft format do you prefer and why: Snake or auction?

An auction is not a draft.

With pre-draft rankings from yahoo or espn or whatever site you use, a retarded chimp can draft a championship team.

An auction is a bitch if you are not prepared.

I prefer the kind where I don't pay attention during the preseason, get hammered, then draft guys I like to watch play and hope I don't draft a guy who's already been taken (automatic shot).
Then I try to crush it on the waiver wire.

If you want a challenge, go with an auction. You actually have to know what you are doing for an auction.

Snake draft you're almost better off letting the autopilot do it for you.

More than any other fantasy sport, football feels like sheer luck to me, year after year. At least the draft phase of it. There is so much parity in my league year after year these days it's ridiculous.

Auctions have salary caps. That's communism. Screw that.

My friend from New York doesn't have a cap, but I can only spend $23.

Dynasty. Then you do a four-round, lottery-style rookie draft every year. Makes you feel like a real GM because you are figuring who you want for the future, cutting who could be great today and making sure you still can contend.

  11. I've done both. Very much prefer snake.
