The Dude Abides is in... until I come up with a name I like.

And I'm trying to figure out how I'll juggle a 9:30 am draft while producing a noon newscast. Hmmm....

We are sitting at 14, and I just sent out an invitation for the 15th team.

I am pretty excited for this as well.

Try wrapping your heads around this concept...

I think we should be able to trade our franchises minor league systems.

For example, it's late August and your team needs a boost to win this thing. A guy is floating Oswalt, and you really need a starter. You could trade Snell and the farm system of Milwaukee for Oswalt and the farm system of the Nationals.

The trade was essentially Oswalt for the Brewers farm system.

As commish, I would note the farm ownership in the rules.

I like that idea a lot.

That would be cool, it will be a lot more like an actual MLB team.

I like the idea as long as you have to have two minor league franchises at once.

    Question for 93D:

If I have, say, the Rangers farm system. Let's say Neftali Perez is getting called up... Can I trade him instead of using a roster spot? Would that be too confusing?

    Sure.

I cannot see how that would be a problem.

But you cannot trade that person until they hit the majors.

  8. Or until Yahoo decides to add him to its player list.

    Yes.

Actually, I see this type of trade happening more than trading the entire franchise, but who knows?

I do too, which makes it more interesting. I see this being a great year, especially with us feeling the system out.

If you sell off a player for a farm system can you keep as many farm systems as you want the next year?

No, every team must have two farm systems.

Any trade with a farm system must have one in return.
