Would tend to fall into this camp. Has lost something off the fastball in recent years, but damn funny for a long time from their start up.

And anyone who's just finding Family Guy offensive now, clearly hasn't been watching, because they bring more than a few moments of damn, I can't believe they said that. And many times, about real life people and not just cartoon world inhabitants.

No, they're not. But if you watch The Simpsons and your takeaway from it is that you're offended by the portrayal of the guy who owns the convenience store, then I really feel sorry for you.

 

"The Family Guy" joke in the OP is funny.

 

Seth McFarland has actually said on the record he wishes the show would end so that should tell you anything you need to know about the quality of the show.

That said, I used to find it funny but I guess I'm in a different stage in life. Family Guy's shtick seems to be "the more offensive we are, the funnier it is! Because, humor!" and I just don't find that funny anymore.

 

I agree with this, and I was a huge FG fan back in the day. Now, it just seems to veer too far into the shock and trash humor; an episode last year featured close-ups of herpes sores, for example. The Simpsons is now consistently funnier, even though it's in season 537, nevermind animated shows like Archer and Bob's Burgers that are better than both now.

 

I'm curious what Archer is going to do with ISIS. I know the "company" is sort of not there anymore, but they still talked about it last season.

 

Stewie beating the crap out of Brian for money was classic.

And "eat the red carpet" was great. I would do Lois.

 

People who still think Family Guy is funny like to watch professional wrestling.
