The Trentonian is looking for news and sports interns for the fall semester.

News Interns: If you’re a go-getter ready to step in and start covering a variety of subjects in New Jersey’s capital, you’re looking in the right place. The stories are out there waiting to be written -- such as Trenton's first citizen-led mayoral recall drive -- and news interns would get thrown right into the field, covering everything from crime to corruption, local events to profile pieces. Previous experience writing for a news publication or college paper and the proven ability to tackle a story are musts. Social media and video experience is a plus.

Sports Interns: Knowledgeable and web-savvy interns would be expected to contribute to The Trentonian’s sports section during the busy fall season, with a focus placed on Trentonian.com and its Digital First M.O. High school football season will be at the forefront, allowing interns to get experience covering games, contributing to and running our popular football chat on game nights. The Trentonian’s coverage spans NJ and PA. Availability for Friday nights and Saturdays is a must. Assignments would also include mid-week coverage of local sports. Previous experience writing about sports for a print or online publication is required. Social media and video experience is a plus.

Applicants for news or sports internships should contact Assistant Sports Editor Ben Seal at bseal@trentonian.com. Include a cover letter, resume and 3-5 writing samples in the email. Write the word INTERN in the subject line.

Isn't it a bit late to advertise for fall internships?
