The Hour Publishing Co., a multimedia and print journalism company based out of Norwalk, Conn., is seeking freelance writers to work as Correspondents for our family of newspapers.

The Hour is a daily newspaper, which publishes seven days a week. We cover high schools that compete in Fairfield County Interscholastic Athlete Conference (FCIAC) and Fairchester Athletic Association, with emphasis on our local schools in the towns of Norwalk, Westport, Weston, Wilton and Stamford.

The Hour ties in their coverage with The Stamford Times and the Wilton Villager, two weekly newspapers, as well.

Additionally, there will be opportunities to cover Minor League Baseball (the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League), Minor League Hockey (the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL) and University of Connecticut sports, as well.

Some featuring writing or breaking news stories may be assigned, also.

Strong writing skills are a must with a background in sports being an essential part of any strong candidate. Pay is by the story, with payment depending upon game and/or story subject.

Please email a letter of interest along with writing samples and/or a resume to

John Nash, Assistant Sports Editor, at johnnash@thehour.com
