    Of the 65 friends I have I hear from maybe 12 of them with any regularity.

    Right. One of my closest friends is very stingy with who he calls by that name. Everyone else is merely an acquaintance. He's not on either MySpace or FB, and would mock their idea of "friends" if he heard about it ...

    I'd say about 75% of them are acquaintances from high school who I no longer see, but I have, of course, met in real life. Many others are friends from college, some of whom I still talk to. Some are good, personal friends. Others are just those whom I met at a party or something and they looked me up and added me.

    Basically. I mean I'm not going to remove them because I no longer talk to them because I hardly even speak to my good friends on there. If I want to talk, I pick up my cell phone. I just see FB as a way to keep in touch with people that I might not be able to see on a regular basis.
