Do-it-all sports writer and editor with 20 years experience covering and editing all major sports. Located in central CT and looking for any and all assignments.

No area event is too big or too small. I will cover high school football in small CT towns or major events in NYC area, including the Meadowlands. I have written on deadline for my entire career and know how to deliver a plugger, 800 words at the buzzer, and a writethru an hour later. I ask the right questions, will give you the local angle you are looking for, a sidebar alongside your beat writer's copy, blanket coverage, etc. I also can operate in the web world or blogosphere if needed.

Usually on short notice, I can get to all UConn sports, Knicks, Nets, WNBA Sun, boxing/MMA at CT casinos or MSG, Rangers, Devils, Mets, Yanks, New Britain Rock Cats, Jets, Giants, NCAA regionals at The Swamp, Bridgeport or Storrs, Big East men or women in CT or NYC, PGA/LPGA/Champions Tours in Cromwell, Harrison, New Rochelle or northern NJ, ATP/WTA in New Haven or Flushing, and more.

From a desk standpoint, I have deep knowledge of most major sports plus an extremely sharp eye for typos, holes in copy and missed leads. I can provide anything you may need, including deadline copy needing a quick turnaround, news judgment, historical relevance, stat or trend significance, etc. I am excellent with younger writers needing guidance or direction.
