Of course the LAPD have already made a huge mistake in shooting up two newspaper carriers because they thought the truck they were driving looked like Dorner's.

Just saw a ton of coverage of this on CNN -- that manifesto was something else.

His anger hinges on what he says is racism in the department that led to his being fired after complaining. There is apparently a record of his complaints, which the chief says have been "adjudicated."

They found the truck burning -- in Big Bear. Lots of places to get lost up there.

What do you mean by "something else"?

Something else as in, quite far out of the ordinary and fascinating in its own way. Not as skillful or intelligent as the Unabomber, but out there for sure.

It's more than a trifle creepy that all the photos of this dude show him with a broad, sunny smile, even in camos with an automatic rifle.

Judging from the photos, those LA cops sure like to cowboy up with all their assault rifles and handguns lashed to their thighs and all that happy horseshit. Not surprised by anything that happens with that police force anymore. Is anyone?

OK, I realize that big-city cops have to be (want to be?) regulated militias these days. But are they well-regulated militias? Or are they just itching for war games in the city?

Not targeting LA only. Big-city commando cops are scary when they're jacked up.

La Sheriff is a diferent law enforcement agency than LAPD, but point taken.

LAPD showed up at my daughter's office in Orange County this afternoon and "secured" a coworker, who is the daughter of someone named in the manifesto. They took the woman out of the office under armed guard and drove off in an unmarked police car. Crazy shit.
