Ex-Gator Continues Effort to be "Next Kobe"

Ask a Florida fan how "insignificant" Dupay was.

He was Donovan's first major commitment. He gave his verbal I think entering his junior year of high school when Florida had done nothing of note in hoops. Keep in mind, Dupay was a McDonald's All-American and one of the best HS players in Florida history. After he committed to UF, Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller followed.

Those three played a huge part in Florida becoming a hoops power. Now, they've been to three title games and won two titles.

I'm not so sure I would consider Dupay to be insignificant.

 

When Dave Corzine was arrested for mopery it was all over the news.

I understand Teddy's significance in the big picture, but when it came to actually playing the game, he hurt you as much as he helped you. Hustle and heart and all that and a real energy guy ... but his head was just as often up his ass.

This has been bizarrely fascinating on a quiet Sunday night.

Apparently Mr. Dupay is now the CEO of an advocacy group to legalize weed, with several Villarreal-type videos on YouTube.

 

He's now been arrested enough times for Urban Meyer to recruit him.

 

If that was Urban's son, you two would be going at it right now. And if it were Urban's daughter, he'd change his mind and go back to neglecting her tommorow anyway.
