It is my understand, which may well be incorrect, that the Pac-10's failure to have enough teams bowl eligible for all its slots could give Boise an opening to move up the chain a bit.

I'll agree, the Big East isn't half of what it used to be 10-15 years ago. But when the BCS was put into play, the Big East always had a team in the top five and a slew in the Top 25. With Miami, Va Tech and Boston College leaving, it all went to hell. Maybe then the BCS should have reevaluated the conference. Maybe it will after this year if it can ?

Don't forget Notre Dame is part of their allocation.

If Stanford is top four, it is guaranteed a spot in a BCS bowl, probably the Fiesta. And the BCS needs to change it so a conference champion has to be ranked a certain spot in the final standings (top 15 perhaps) to be guaranteed a berth in a BCS bowl and if it's not, then the bowls can take someone else (not from that conference).

But it won't. So a four-loss team from the Big East gets the big payout in a big bowl and Boise gets shoved to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

There's not a single conference in America that would agree to not let its conference champion get a guaranteed spot in the BCS.

    Most importantly:

Will Mizzou play in the Holiday Bowl so the TigerVols family can go see them?

You also seem to forget that Boise also beat the soon-to-be national champions last year as well.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT FUCKING MAKE?

    Seriously?

It makes no difference at all to schools in a conference. Not one iota.

If you aren't in the championship game, the only game that matters, whether you are on the blue turf, in El Paso, In Nashville, in Las Vegas or in Tempe or New Orleans - it is an exhibition game that means nothing and really, given that it takes place so far removed from the season, really has little value other than to get an extra month of practice for your underclassmen.

All this whining about bowl positioning is silly.

Almost every BCS conference takes its total bowl payout and divides it evenly among its members and the only difference in money is the amount a school is given to cover travel expenses.

And both of you seem to forget that last year is not relevant, seeing as Alabama was the national champions last year and has three losses this year.
