  1. He's already put out a statement - through his attorney - to that effect.

Let's start casting the movie. Obviously Lee Donowitz has gotta play Harvey

Sharon Waxman of the Wrap on CNN now.

Says Weinstein’s behavior has been an open secret in Hollywood for years. Says she’s known Harvey for years, covered him, and considers him a friend. WTF?

It gets worse. She says she worked on a piece about him that ended up not getting published, uncovered a lot of similar things that were detailed in the Times article.

So, why the fuck do you consider him a friend?

Are we going to start showing pictures of bad people Trump has hung out with? Like, where do we fucking start?

Anyway, kudos on the thread title.

Hollywood is a horrible place, and it's denizens who cover for sexual predators are as bad as any Catholic bishop who covered up for a predator priest.

Very tough to argue with that. Any place with concentrated money or power, e.g. The Vatican, Washington, Hollywood, is a horrible place, especially for those without the money or power.

We tried so hard to get the goods on him. For decades we tried.

We just never could, though we all knew all about it.

Who tried harder, baseball writers re: steroids and drugs or news reporters re: Weinstein's touchy-feelies?

You do know who pays for advertising in Variety and the Hollywood Reporter? This is like a local newspaper going after a car dealer or grocery store. The New Yorker taking on the Met or Broadway or Fox News going after the reverse mortgage industry.
