Loved James Brown version of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Ali-Wepner fight -- "Everybody say FREE!!!!"

No doubt so did Sly because James sang Living in America for Rocky IV

I actually didn't know that. Gave up on the Rockys after II.

I thought of a few more examples: The novel the Godfather (and to a lesser extent, the movie) borrowed heavily from Frank Sinatra (the Johnny Fontane character). Saving Private Ryan was based on a similar event. Primary Colors, anyone?

Like I said, news events can't be construed as intellectual property. Wepner had one helluva lawyer.

Smart move. Save a lot of aggravation and brain cells, that way.

Wasn't any worse than the Star Wars sagas. It was entertainment for a few hours.

My view is affected by my overhearing some Sly verbiage he directed at a bodyguard . . . stuff that no one else was supposed to hear.

    What a patronizing snob.

    What did Sly say?

I'm not going there . . . but there was only one way to interpret what he said, and the little man made himself still smaller by saying what he said. I'm done, here.

Send the information in a PM. I'm curious.
