ESPN has agreed to a licensed management agreement with Cumulus to take over the ESPN-owned-and-operated radio station in Dallas, KESN-FM. Additionally, the Spanish-language ESPN Deportes station will have its operations taken over by Deportes Media. Both shifts are expected to take place Sept. 1.

I know they're getting beaten on a regular basis by the Ticket (owned by Cumulus), but it's still pretty surprising that ESPN would throw in the towel so quickly as an O&O in a top-five market after all the expansion Bristol has done in DFW.

Gotta wonder whether the days of ESPN Dallas.com are numbered. A lot of writers jumped ship from the Dallas Morning News to go there.
