ESPN.com's Mike Fish on Pat Tillman

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Bristol Insider, Jul 19, 2006.

  1. Tillman was killed in Afghanistan where Al-Queda had a presence and had set up many terrorist training camps. Even if you don't support the Iraq War, I don't see how you can't support tacking down Al-Queda in Afghanistan.

  2. Yes, and Tillman himself wrote before he died that the Iraq war was a huge mistake.
Also, the Gary Smith question above is an intriguing one. He pretty plainly got spun by the army here.

  3. Yeah, but Tillman wasn't fighting in Iraq. Afghanistan was a hotbead of Al-Queda terrorism, so there's no way you can say it was a mistake. The post mentioned was one in which someone said that Afghanistan wasn't worth fighting.

A lot of people who support the war in Iraq can't separate Afghanistan and Iraq. They both pray to the same god, therefore, they're both behind the 9-11 attacks.
