I'm not sure which is worse:

that many people in one place writing about the league . . .

. . . or someone being able to name them "off the top of my head."

I guess that means the Supersonics are on pace to go winless for the season. Enjoy Oklahoma City bastards!

Weren't the Suns (or was it the Mavs?) on a similar pace last year? We saw how that worked out ...

And if the Celtics were to lose to the Nets tonight (OK, not likely) they would be 6-1 and "on pace" for only 70 wins.

"On pace for" is total bullshit. It changes every fucking day.

So, we've got the Pats headed to 19-0.

    The Celts to 82-0.

Next up: Bill Simmons column explaining why the Red Sox will go 173-0 next year.

Looks like the Bruins really screw up the finish to the storyline.

Looked it up. Mavs started 0-4 last year, then won 52 of their next 57. Finished 67-15.

But still, if the Celtics are 39-3 at the midway point like the 96 Bulls were, wake me up and I'll start paying attention ...

I do watch PTI on Tivo, but I would say I watch ESPN about 1/5th of the time I used to 10 years ago.

Of that entire list, these are the only two I remotely give two ounces of shit about.

They did this same stupid thing when the Pistons started like 32-4 or something like that a few years ago.
What made that even more moronic was Greg Anthony saying he'd take the Pistons over the Bulls - even though the season was 36 games old.
Oh yeah, the Pistons also didn't win the title that year. Idiot.
