At Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame event, former SMU RB says he's been blackballed from the College HOF because of the Pony Excess scandal. Of the scandal, he says, "that had nothing to do with us. We were long gone."
Uh, not really. In the ESPN documentary, former SMU assistant coach Steve Endicott said Texas A&M made the downpayment on a new sports car and that SMU picked up the subsequent payments.

    Inconvenient truth.

Even by local standards, that's repulsive.

The CFHOF is pretty lenient, or should I say inconsistent, with the standards it applies.

It wasn't just a new sportscar, it was a maroon Trans Am (i.e., Texas A&M colors). That had to make it even more galling when he signed with SMU.

It wasn't maroon, it was gold. They had footage of it in the 30 For 30 on SMU.
