That cracked me up also. As far as being friends, remember that Benton is the one who escorted Carter to rehab that time.

And yes, I'm an ER looser. So sue me.

My expectations for "ER" have been extremely low ever since the helicopter fell on Dr. Romano.

This has been an excellent season with no episode better than the Clooney-Marguiles-LaSalle sendoff Thursday. Actually, I can't believe how good an episode that was. I've been a loyal viewer since Season 1, videotaping when I was in college and, more recently, watching episodes online when work got in the way.

The last episode, for me at least, will go down as one of the three or four most memorable episodes in the show's long run.

Getting rid of Dr. Pratt, Luka and Abby helped. Their characters were stale. Archie's become a lovable character. He'll go down as one of my favorites, something I never thought I'd say three years ago.

It's going to be a sad moment for me when this show comes to an end. Because of my crazy working hours, I don't keep up with much and I'm too cheap to resort to TiVo. "ER" is the last show standing that I watch religiously.

They should play the theme for the final episode.

Why didn't NBC promote the hell out of that show?

I didn't know it had been on until Friday. Luckily, my digitial cable carrier has NBC OnDemand.

Couple stories I saw said the overnight ratings would have been better if more people had known the classic cast members were coming back.

As for the show, I echo the comments here. Wells did an excellent job. That was an episode as good as the 1994-99 glory days.

After an extended sabbatical after Simone died, I caught the last few episodes of NYPD Blue, and it was worth the effort. I'll do the same for ER, where my sabbatical began after Greene died.

I'm a sucker for nostaglia, and watching this season has been great for me. I love watching final seasons or final shows of all the programs I've enjoyed over the years, and this one is no different.

Was with the show since the beginning, kind of lost interest after Greene died and the new crop of docs came in, but still kind of kept up with folks...watched Carters "last' show, Luka's, etc.

But this season has been quite interesting with everyone returninng in some fashion and I've really enjoyed it again.

Tremendous hour of entertainment. Brings back memories about how terrific this show used to be when it had top-level acting talent. Between Clooney, Hathaway, Benton and Carter, Borgnine and Sarandon, this was a cast to remember.

Best ER episode in more than 5 years.

podunk press, I always liked Archie Morris, especially at the start, when he was a complete and utter clown. And I like how his character has grown and matured in the time he has been on. The one character who never should have been canned was Kristen Johnson's character, Eve, who was the type-A nursing supervisor during the fall of 2005. While nobody can ever replace or replicate Romano's antagonism, Eve was a bad-ass.

Archie's best moments were around the time Pratt died (and I don't care what anyone else says, I liked Greg Pratt), but the killer moment came when he was in the lounge with Angela Basset and she revealed that her son died in the ER. The look on his face was just incredible. His reaction was the best acting this season.

And since then, Killick, it seems as if Archie and Banfield have always had an understanding. Of course, the karaoke party at the conference helped, because that's when he first saw her without the edge she usually has in the ER.

I was a very faithful viewer of ER up until I got back to school and lost track of it because I had class on Thursday nights. Hopefully I can catch up by watching the shows on DVD. My favorite episode was one they did in either 04 or 05 where Gallant brought back a burn victim from Iraq.

It wasn't just with Archie, though. They obviously removed some of her edge, period, around that time. Prior to that, she was cold to everyone and everything.

I cannot understand why they would not trumpet that Clooney, of all people, was going to be on Thursday night, and not really in a bit role, either.

It may have been a condition of his participation.
