It's basically pointless to try to out-porn the Internet in 2015. I'm guessing they will try to be another "Esquire" or "GQ."

The first naked woman I ever saw was Shannon Tweed in an issue I found hidden in my parents' basement. I'll never forget the thrill and shame of sneaking down on occasion for an illicit look.

Roxanne Pulitzer. I stole a look at the drugstore. I would have gladly done five years of hard time for what I saw.

Now everyone will only read it for the articles.

Candy Loving. She was the stunning centerfold in the January, 1979, 25th Anniversary edition. My dad had that hidden in his home office when I was a kid and I learned everything I knew about sex in the first 12 or so years of my life from that magazine.

    Money quote:

“Don’t get me wrong,” Mr. Jones said of the decision to dispense with nudity, “12-year-old me is very disappointed in current me. But it’s the right thing to do.”

Yup. I liked that one a lot. 12-year-old me remembers the Marilyn Cole centerfold very vividly.

In a way, Hefner's revolution was his own undoing.

I'm trying to think of the last model from Playboy to crossover to a mainstream career (because Playboy was a big enough deal, to get you some opportunities). Jenny McCarthy?

Hustler now has to double down on beaver shots, right?

Circulation drop from 5.6 million to 800,000.

Looks like the "suits" (or "smoking jackets") screwed up by not being visionary enough. Should have invented the internet and charged for it.

Claudia Jennings – the late, great Claudia Jennings – was an early favorite.

B-movie actress later. Died in a car wreck on the PCH in Malibu.

Yep. That new internet thingy? They should have figured out a way to get exposure for their Playmates ' thingies before anyone else.
