End of an era in Tucson

    It's a funny thing, used to be you could ID writers with their cities.
    Mike Royko - Chicago
    Herb Caen - San Fran
    Jim Murray and Al Martinez - L.A.
    Corky Simpson - Tucson
    Now except for Mariotti and Chicago and Woody Paige and Denver I can't think of many that are still like that.
    Even some of the big names are so big (Lupica, Kornheiser, Wilbon) you don't ID them with a particular city.

    To me, Thiel will always be Seattle, but I know I am just a hometown boy on that train and many people would go with Newnham or Kelly, though I'd take Art over all of them for eternity.

    LeBetard and Miami, Whitlock and KC, the Boston guys and gal, Simers and LA ... there are still a few left. Forde's national but he still has a distinctive vibe to Louisville.
