This might be the worst awards show thread in SJ history. Where's the live blogging? Or the updates of the winners? Those of us playing online poker watching football and/or baseball need some help here.

You can't go on a show and say god damn.
    Censorship? No.
    Bleeping profanity? Yes.

Bleeping profanity? Sure, they could have done that.
Except they didn't just bleep the profanity.
Instead, they went ahead and cut out all of her anti-war statement.
    Censorship? Yes.

That is not the time or place.
Don't hijack the show for your own agenda, pro or anti war, doesn't matter.

The only reason to watch these shows is to see famous people make asses out of themselves. Maybe Sally was just trying to give Hillary a plug.
And though the show didn't win its writing category, Real Time with Bill Maher had the best nomination clip (voicing the nominated writers while panning down a line of restroom stalls with many pairs of shoes)

There were a couple moments where it looked like the show cut away from something happening on stage.
All in all I really can't recognize a show claiming to reward the best in television when 2.5 men and Boston Legal get nominated and Friday Night Lights gets a set of steak knives (a win for casting, whoopee!).
The opening song was good, but for the most part boring. And too bad for NBC's football package. When they said they had the best games, I guess they didn't mean that in the "competitive" sense. Hell of an ending to the Sox-Yanks. Jeter gave me Bucky Dent flashbacks with Curt Shilling serving it up. Priceless.
