Jeremy Shockey has finally gotten his wish.

The Giants have agreed to trade their disgruntled tight end to the New Orleans Saints for a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick, FOXSports.com has learned. The deal is pending league approval, according to a league source. Shockey must also pass a physical.

The compensation is the same the Saints offered New York back in April prior and during to the draft ... and it was turned down.

The move comes one day after Jason Taylor was traded from Miami to New York's NFC East rivals in Washington. According to a report on SI.com, the Giants had held discussions about a three-team trade in which they would have ended up with Taylor, the Saints would have landed Shockey and the Dolphins would have received a pair of draft picks.

New Orleans the only team that thinks he can still play?

This is a player, when healthy, that could push an offense to another level.

They should have shipped his ass to Oakland. He would have been a perfect fit there.

We saw what level the Giants played at last year when he was *not* healthy.

Given how reluctant most teams are to part with high draft picks, a two and a five is a pretty good return for the guy.

    Pretty good?

    Insane.

    An in-the-prime Marshall Faulk got a 2 and a 5.

A beaten-down, disruptive tight end gets more than Jason Taylor (yes, even at 34)?

    Wowza.

Awful fucking move for the Saints.

I always thought he was horribly misused in Coughlin's offense, but his biggest problem has been his lack of concentration. He drops so many easy passes, it's unbelievable.

Actually, his biggest problems are he's a jerk and he's dumb.

Does he have a Facebook or Myspace page so you can prove that?

This only impacts me on a fantasy football basis. I guess this makes Shockey a better pick in an already deep crop of fantasy tight ends this year. If he's not hurt, it makes the Saints much better.

A horrific flashback for the Saints.
