I appreciate it. I'm still shocked at the Phillies. I always figured the Braves would be the "team to beat" in the East, regardless of how much the Mets are/were favored, and once Atlanta was out of the picture, all would be right in Flushing. I guess not.

As a Braves fan, there is no reason I should hate the Phillies more than the Mets. Somehow, these last two years, I find that I do.

I fully expect Philly to blow it vs. Washington this weekend. I'll be pulling for the Nats.

As will I, of course. Over the last 15 years or so, I've trained myself to hate the Braves to the point where the only two times I'll root for them is when they could help the Mets out or are playing the Yankees.

When the season began, I was fearful of the Phillies' offense, but I figured Atlanta's pitching staff would lock up at least the second-place spot. I make it a point not to root for Pennsylvania teams, and the Phillies are helping me out for years to come.

Oh how I love seeing Milwaukee on that list.

Here's to hoping my Brewer's fan boss does not come into work this morning at 5 a.m. to stand over my shoulder before our morning show.

Even if the Rockies don't somehow force a tie and play a Monday play-in game for the WC, I'm damn proud of their play down the stretch. The schedule makers did right by me as they played games in San Diego and Los Angeles during the 11-game win streak and I saw victories each time. If nothing else, this helps the young guys for next year as they've been experiencing meaningful games in September and have done well. I also applaud Todd Helton for saying he wanted to stay and play for the Rockies instead of being yet another high-priced guy the front office wanted to trade away since the start of the season.

Dude, Colorado can still tie for the WC and get to a playoff, so they aren't eliminated.

Leaving me the cold comfort of the two WS winning teams in my lifetime and four division titles the past six years.

    Whatever will I do?
