    I used to work in New Ulm with a guy on the sports staff and can't remember if his wife still works there or not...

    I haven't heard of layoffs happening with Forum Communications newspapers before this. Duluth and Grand Forks are recent purchases though.

    Slap, Zeke, check your PM.

    Stitch, this is actually the second round of layoffs for Duluth. Back in March or April there were lots of layoffs there.

    The Superior paper is also owned by Forum and that is downsizing (I despise that word!) from a daily to twice a week with focus on Web content.

    The Forum in Fargo - the mothership of Forum Comm. - hasn't done layoffs but is in a hiring freeze.
