The Philadelphia Daily News is looking for a full-time editorial assistant in the sports department. Job duties include compiling agate, doing research for charts and graphics, answering phones, some event reporting and rewrite. Working nights is required.

Experience preferred, but entry level would be considered for the right candidate.

The Philadelphia Daily News is an equal opportunity employer.

You will be a clerk. The Daily News has several with a lot of talent who could easily write for any major publication. You'll get some opportunities, but you'll mostly remain in house.
The pay is decent. The hours, like any sports job, sucks. The major question is how long with the Daily News be around. The paper, like its sister publication, the Inquirer, has made many cuts. It's under new ownership and while rumors of the paper's demise have been around for years, it is something to consider.
