    Job Responsibilities: - To gather, evaluate and package news fairly, accurately and consistently for sport stories within deadlines - Creates, develops, organizes and edits the content of sports news stories - May coordinate stories with reporters and freelancers - Implements solutions with good editorial judgment that can be easily redirected by senior staff - Can work independently with guidance from senior staff - Assigned to standard editing projects; assists on complex, new and innovative projects - Work is subject to regular review by the responsible Sr. News Editor at regular intervals and milestones - Participates in determining the content and focus of each assigned sports news story; identifies and follows-up on assigned emerging stories and breaking news - Participates in creating and writing content for assigned sports news stories - Contributes creative concepts to assigned sports news stories

    Required Qualifications: - Has expertise to be able to create and write compelling sports news stories; generates and executes story ideas from concept to execution - Has working knowledge of sports reporting and news packaging processes and the ability to gather, interpret and create assigned sports news stories - Has a high level of knowledge of real-time sports news production - Has and applies a strong level of knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use for assigned sports news stories - College degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience in sports journalism or related field. - Has a established knowledge of several technology platforms and editing software packages; readily applies new development - Has a high level knowledge of sports and sports history - Has a passion for covering all major professional, collegiate and minor league sports - Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

    I only read the first graf, but...

    1. I wouldn't work for a place that couldn't spell its own company right in a job ad.
    2. 10 million characters? Really? Who cares about a number like that?
    3. Maybe it wouldn't be 10 million without random misplaced semicolons.

    PA is carried on the Yahoo wire. I only know this because it gets in the damn way of the AP stories. Such a hassle.
