Job Description The News-Gazette Community Newspaper division of the News-Gazette in Champaign-Urbana is looking to fill two editorial positions. We operate eight weeklies in East Central Illinois and consider this a great opportunity for someone to learn more about the business. We need people who are willing to get involved in the community where they work and provide the best possible weekly newspaper to their community every week.

Qualifications Weekly Newspaper Editor
We're looking to fill editor position for LeRoy Farmer City Press, a small weekly newspaper. Candidate must be able to write hard news, features and sports, have a good eye for photography and then design and paginate the paper each week. Fleet of correspondents will aid editor. Must know InDesign, PhotoShop and other word programs and have web experience. Position available at end of December.

Assistant Editor/sports editor
We're seeking a talented writer/photographer to fill a role as sports editor/assistant editor at the award-winning Rantoul Press, a large weekly newspaper in northern Champaign County. The position would require a large amount of sports coverage, some hard news and some feature writing. Position is responsible for pagination of pages in InDesign, must know Photoshop and have a good eye for design. Web experience also helpful. Great opportunity learn the business under a veteran editor. Position will be available in early 2013.
