There are multiple reports of shots and police activity, but most pressing appears to be in Squires

Students being moved to secure room is Squires Student Center. The Collegiate Times has been evacuated from its office, still has Internet

Officer was apparently killed after traffic stop. Then another person killed.

I hope these are not related. I cannot imagine they are.

WASHINGTON -- Testimony is set to resume today at 9 a.m. in Virginia Tech's appeal of $55,000 in fines levied by the U.S. Department of Education for the university's handling of the April 16, 2007, shootings.

The Education Department earlier found Tech officials had violated the Clery Act, a federal campus safety law in place for about 20 years. This is the first evidentiary hearing ever held in a Clery Act case.

Tech maintains that it did nothing wrong in delaying a campus-wide alert about the first attack in a campus dormitory early on April 16.

Nobody needs to remember that loser's name or face from 2007.
Already seen a few links to the depraved videos he sent NBC.

The reporter holding the one-person presser with the VT official is doing a great job.

Live streaming of the local news from the USA Today site. Assuming it's Gannett-owned.

The CT office is in Squires -- unless it's moved, that's where it was when I worked there. They are doing a hell of a job. Our local ABC affiliate -- which is killing it on this story with one man on the ground at this point until reinforcements arrive -- reported that the CT people were moved from their office into a secure room with a bunch of other students inside of Squires.

Said reporter was on his way to Squires when he stopped at the west end of the drillfield to watch several law enforcement officers with automatic weapons stop two students who were out presumably trying to take footage of campus. It's on lockdown. Stay. The. Fuck. Inside. Let law enforcement do their work. Not the time to test their limits.

Hearing the ATF and FBI are involved, and there was a giant SWAT vehicle outside of Squires.

Good bless those officers putting their lives on the line today. They probably have not had a raise in four years.

Lockdown lifted. WTOP radio in DC reports that there's speculation that the second body is that of the shooter.
